President Park Chunghee
has ruled Korea for 18 years
since his military coup in 1961 .
October 1979. Students and civilians
gather in great numbers
to protest Park's oppressive rule
and call for democracy.
But Park's military forces
easily crushes the protestors.
The nation is under a false peace
the people in silent fear.
Then out of the blue,
Park Chunghee is shot dead.
